Thoughts

I have only recently heard of Mr Cush’s passing and want to send my condolences to his family. I am a 50 year old former pupil of St Comgalls and was lucky enough to be taught by Mr Cush in primary 6 and 7. My own children even know who he was after many years of stories about ‘the best teacher I ever had’ . He believed in all of us and broadened our horizons- teaching us French at 9 and 10 years old. I remember being sick in the run-up to the 11+ and him driving to my home which was well outside Antrim to deliver past papers for me to do from my sick bed in advance of the exam. He told me he loved my smile and read my stories aloud to the the class- the same store is that another teacher had dismissed as nonsense. I don’t say this lightly but he really had a massive impact on the course of my life and for that I am eternally grateful. God bless him a small may he rest in peace hopefully with ‘Clair de la Lune ‘playing in the background.

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are. Speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
